Message from CEO
Welcome to our final newsletter for 2008. It has been a year of strong growth for our industry but many uncertainties lie ahead as economic growth slows worldwide. There remain some positive signs for the industry as MPG (part of Havas) has just started a new out-of-home division, Chrysalis, so all the major agencies are now participating in the space. ABI Research have reduced their growth forecasts for the industry to 17% p.a. -- but this still remains miles ahead of most other media. |

However, people are understandably cautious. We are putting a great deal of effort in ensuring we support our clients and help them to continue to grow, even in a recessionary environment. To this end we have launched our Digital Merchandising Guide, a document that takes a practical view on increasing sales in store. We are also launching our new technology platform -- EnQii EnGage -- which is a complete redesign of our system and built to help increase revenues and reduce costs. We will start to present this over the next several weeks. All this, together with our rental model and strong backing, will make us a good partner over the coming years and we are very pleased to highlight some of the work we have done with Airport Express in Hong Kong and the Private Newsstand Network in the US.
We are also delighted to close a fundraising round, which brought an additional $18m into our company from some of Europe's strongest investors. This will allow us to continue to support our clients worldwide and build the strongest technology and communications platform to let you run your out-of-home communications business effectively. It also means we will be around for many years -- allowing us to invest along with you in the success of your networks.
We wish our clients and partners a great holiday season. And don't forget to visit our website at www.enqii.com and let us know what you think! Please email me your questions, comments or suggestions on what you would like to see in forthcoming editions of this newsletter.
Best Regards,
Ajay Chowdhury

Thought Leadership - Armstrong’s “Top 11 List”
By Stuart Armstrong
While advertising revenue remains a viable consideration when retailers design their in-store TV network, programming it should not be the dominant reason for its existence. And when it’s done, brands should be selected that are relevant or entertaining to the shopper. For example, if a major pet-supply retailer ran a trailer for the Disney release of “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” I am confident shoppers would see that as an enhancer to the shopping experience.

Meet the EnQii Launch Team
What is the role of the Launch Team at EnQii?
As Director of Network Launch, my function – and the function of the entire team – is to get our customers’ digital signage off the ground successfully. That involves all aspects of hardware, software, client communications, content management and, of course, installation. Installation is one of the most critical aspects and can be costly if not executed efficiently. We look at ensuring quality and driving down-the-cost efficiencies through every step of deployment.

Inside Track
By John Griffiths
EnQii introduces 3 NEW players.
EnQii is pleased to announce the launch of 3 new players to the line-up. They are the RP735-R, RP740 and RP400.
The RP735-R is a more industrial version of the current RP735. There are a few changes in addition to the more rugged case including a VGA and RS-232 port. It has the same performance characteristics as the current RP735 meaning it will play high definition video and Flash.
The RP740 is a based on a Dell Optiplex 740. This is a larger form factor than the RP735 models but does allow for additional expansion such as video cards. It uses an AMD processor and comes with a massive 160GB hard drive and 1GB of memory. It will play high definition video and Flash like the RP735 models.
The final new model is the RP400. This is based on an Intel Atom processor and offers a lower cost player where high definition video or Flash is not required. The device will play standard definition video and Flash files and still pictures. It will play some 720p encoded content and details will be made available on request.
For specifications, prices and availability please contact your local office.
